Whitney Slade
Whitney Slade is founder of Slade Strategies, a Boise-based PR consulting agency. She is co-founder of Sun Valley Tour de Force, a three-day car event and fundraiser recognized as, “One of the best driving events in the world,” by Barron’s Magazine. Kicking off her PR career in San Francisco, she worked with Adobe Photoshop, Sony, Roomba, and Roblox. In 2010, she returned to her home town of Sun Valley, Idaho, with a focus on elevating start-ups and nonprofits. She produced the first TEDx Sun Valley and managed the Idaho Foodbank’s communication strategy during the longest government shut-down in history. Slade is passionate about working with organizations aimed at solving a problem. Currently, she is working with young companies disrupting their industries and making strides in social impact. She aligns an organization’s messaging with current trends and promotes her client’s through media relations, unique events, speaking opportunities, and more. Slade works tirelessly for organizations and causes she believes in.
Catherine Bates
Catherine Bates is a storyteller at heart and passionate about creating communications strategies that help companies thrive. For over a decade, Bates has successfully helped organizations in the public and private sectors amplify their impact stories. She has a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her work at Boise State University centered on identifying opportunities to engage multiple stakeholders to increase access for students historically underrepresented in higher education. She has directed multiple federal grant programs and facilitated leadership development and inclusive trainings for individuals, teams, and organizations. Most recently, she developed, managed, and implemented the communication programs for the largest BBB in the country and helped move a 110-year-old brand into the future. As Director of Communications with Slade Strategies, Catherine offers strategic counsel to mission driven businesses who aren’t afraid to shake up the status quo.
